Tony Glover's archive of audio cassette tapes and transcripts of his telephone conversations with Bob Dylan in 1971. Includes two audio cassette tapes, marked "Dylan - Phone, 1/19/71 / 2/25/71 + 9/28/71" and "Dylan - Phone - 9-28-71 (Ctd.) / 10-5-71," plus four original typed transcripts of their conversations between January 1971 and October 1971. These discussions outline the genesis of Glover's unpublished interview of Dylan, originally done for Esquire. The two discuss the reasons that Dylan stopped giving interviews, potential topics of discussion ("Well, like one question which people would expect to be asked in any interview would be—What do you think about Lennon not believing in Zimmerman?"), and the necessity for creative control over the entire project. In later conversations, the talk turns to religion, Kurt Vonnegut, current projects ("I did some new stuff in the studio…gonna be on the 2nd Greatest Hits album"), Anthony Scaduto's biography of Dylan, the Concert for Bangladesh organized by George Harrison, a Neil Young concert, bootleg records, and more. In overall fine condition.
