<B>Board of Trade Medal for Gallantry.</B></I> This large (57.5-mm, 91.8-gm) silver medal was awarded by the Board of Trade for gallantry in lifesaving to Mr. John Hughes for attempting to save a life on 8th July 1879. The obverse features B. Wyon's version of Queen Victoria; the reverse depicts four people and a baby waiting to be rescued. A few rim bumps are noted on the medal.
