From the Bicol region of central Philippines, NAGA Tribe, this belt incorporates 24 canine teeth of the wild Boar….and a man in that culture had to form one before he could marry or become a member of the tribal council. Set in a woven cloth belt, it would have been worn at the waist with a heavy cord carrying it around the back. Great appearance - and it is the only Asian culture (fast becoming obsolete) that I know of that made and used such a belt. 16-1/2" long and containing one tooth with deep patina that likely was passed down from his father or grandfather, and thus a special remembrance/amulet to protect him during the hunt.
