Made at Jingdezhen, after the kilns there were revived in the 17th C., this is from the first century of its new production. 12-1/2" across, 4-1/2" tall, it features full Blue & White designs inside and underside. A well-cleaned (only small traces of coral concretions remain and a slightly frosty surface alteration by the salt water) Shipwreck recovery from Palawan, the westernmost border of the Philippines (that was a trading station in the South China Sea much favored by the Chinese Junks as it was easy to get to and collected products such as Honey and Beeswax, Spices, Gold, Hardwoods, and Women to marry the Chinese seamen - all for trade at attractive levels for the Chinese). Highly impressive and perfect coastal (local) recovery.
