Will Eisner created him, although Bob Powell played a significant role in shaping the Polish flyer and his diverse team of fighters. A fantastic run of comics, Blackhawk has long been undervalued in the Guide. Offered here is the first issue of that seminal series (previously Uncle Sam) that DC would take over in 1957. The original series would continue, with some interruptions until 1984. This is a great opportunity to obtain a beautiful key issue from the Mile High collection, a near-perfect, stunning copy with a clean white cover and perfect spine. Overstreet 2002 NM 9.4 value = $4,000. <B>Estimate: $16,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
