The piece is constructed of stripped willow which is banded together with a dark blue shroud trade clothe edge and red trade clothe sections. The top of the stand shows a red, blue and tan trade clothe section with an opening which allows the piece to be slid over the long hand carved stand. The circa 1880-1900 piece is from Northwestern Montana at the Blackfeet Indian Reservation near Glacier National Park and Browning, Montana. Provenance: One of the most prominent American Indian collections in Billings, Montana. The piece ahs a nice original patina from age and use. Measures 37”W.
