The lot features a Buffalo Indian tanned hide sheath with rare large brass trade tacks accenting the outer edge and early trade knife from the Blackfoot (Blackfeet) Native American Indians. The knife and sheath are from the 19th Century and show an excellent design and museum quality condition. The knife shows a wood handle and iron forged blade. Provenance: The piece comes from a Native American Indian collection in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The piece shows wear and patina indicative of its early age and is in the iconic tacked sheath design typical of early Blackfoot pieces. The knife and sheath together are 9 5/8"L. Sheath is 7 7/8"x4.75". Knife is 8 7/8"L.
