Great example of a Blackfoot man’s shirt, with beaded panels, rosettes and hair drops. On native tanned hide, trimmed with red trade cloth around the neck, heavy fringe and yellow pigment dyed across the bottom half, with green pigment dots and tails. Beaded strips affixed down both arms and over shoulders front and back feature designs in cobalt, red and yellow beads on a field of light blue. The colors are repeated on the central rosettes, with pumpkin beads instead of yellow. A fine shirt, with great details and museum history. 40” long with fringe, circa late 19th century.
