Blackfeet Jingle Cone Loud Dress c. 1900-
This is an excellent rolled tin jingle cone “Loud” dress from the Blackfeet Native American Indian Dress from circa 1900. The dress shows a rust orange trade clothe cotton construction which shows four borders of silk trade ribbon accented by rolled tin jingle cones. These jingle cone lined dresses are referred to as “Loud” dresses and would have been worn during ceremonial dances and were given the name due to their noisy demeanor when moved. The dress originated from the early 1900’s from the Blackfeet or Blackfoot people of Montana. This dress appears to be in good overall condition with some slight staining, and tears. Measures overall 43" x 34".
