The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, barrel length, and blue finish with the type of stocks not listed. The revolver was shipped to E.C. Meacham Arms Company, St. Louis, Missouri, on November 24, 1890 as part of a 25 gun shipment. The barrel has the two line Hartford address and caliber markings (traces remain). The left side of the frame has the two line patent date with a circled rampant colt. Matching numbers on frame and grip straps, with the assembly number "1062" on the loading gate. The ivory grip has a crude relief carved stag head on the right side.

Condition: Good. The revolver has a smooth gray patina overall with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas of the replaced ejector rod housing and barrel, and traces of silvered out original case colors on the frame. The front sight has been trimmed down a bit. The grip is very good with numerous hairline age cracks (mostly on the bottom) and repairs on the left side near the frame and bottom. The ivory has a nice grain pattern and an attractive color. Mechanically fine.
