Manufactured in 1884. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates and the left upper front of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL". Matching serial number on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Standard blade front (slightly altered) and frame notch rear sights and fitted with two piece checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, 45 caliber, 4 3/4" barrel, blue finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 of 50 to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on March 18, 1884.
BBL: 4 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 41 Long Colt
Finish: blue/casehardened
Grips: hard rubber
Serial Number: 109400
Condition: Good. The revolver has a smooth mottled brownish gray patina with traces of the original blue finish in protected areas. The front sight has been filed a bit on the upper left side edge. The grips are good moderately worn replacements. Each has a different mis-matched number scratched on the inside and the right panel shows heavy wear, with areas of checkering almost smooth. The trigger is a later production replacement. The left panel has crisp checkering. Overall there are a few minor dings and scratches. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
