Black Panther Signature Lot This lot features three items that are written, and signed, by former leaders of the Black Panthers organization. First, we have an autograph letter signed by Bobby Seale, accompanied by an inscribed and signed photograph. The letter measures 4" x 6"; it is dated February 18, 1978, and is addressed to Mr. Henry J. Lohrengel Jr. The photo is 10" x 8", black and white, and inscribed to the same man the to whom the letter is written. The picture shows Bobby Seale talking on a television show. The inscription reads, "Your hobby seems interesting and I also understand the historical relevance of your correlations. Toward a cooperative humanism." Next, we feature a 4" x 6" autograph letter signed by Eldridge Cleaver. It is dated September 11, 1982, and is addressed to Henry J. Lohrengel Jr. The letter reads, "Please excuse my delay. I think you have a very interesting hobby. Best photos I've ever seen off a T.V. screen. Thank you very much." Seale was one of the original founders of the Black Panthers, and following a famous court case, was tried and imprisoned for inciting a riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention . Seale has since turned his life into a crusade for youth education programs. Eldridge Cleaver was one of the former leaders of the Panthers, and was responsible for some of the most powerful and influential literature to come out of their movement. This lot is a chance for a collector to own some very rare signatures of some extremely notorious men!

The photograph is in good condition; it is slightly fuzzy, but this is due to the fact that the photograph was taken off of a television screen. The letters are in very fine condition; the usual folds are present; otherwise they are excellent. Accompanying the Eldridge Cleaver letter is the original envelope addressed by Cleaver.

Important notice:
