<B>[Black Americana] Black Crime in Gettysburg and Adams County Pennsylvania, 1823-1871.</B></I> An archive consisting of approximately twenty-five documents, both manuscript and partly-printed. Consists of warrants, true bills, and other instruments chronicling criminal charges including larceny, assault & battery, burglary, sheep and cow theft, and attempted rape against various blacks. Sizes range from 7.5" x 6" to 7.75" x 12.5" and condition is generally very good; all have folds, some with minor splitting.
