Rare - original Victorian bisque nodder, very finely detailed.

A porcelain bisque figurine of a sitting boy - he is dressed in rather a Russian or Mongolian ensemble, with peak domed fur cap, and wide fur-collared coat which covers him entirely like a great sheepskin. This interesting piece is a nodder. It has a separate head with a porcelain balance weight. When moved or touched the head nods. The head is wired into place, and his
face is extremely well painted - this little figurine would date from the late 1800s, and is probably made in Germany. It has no
maker?s mark, just the figure 21 in the brown paint of his hat.
Measures 8cm high and 6cm wide (3.1/4 inches high by 2.1/4 inches wide). Excellent condition, a real gem. One of my personal favourite pieces.
