Bishop,CA - Inyo County - 1906 - World's Greatest Gold Mine (Publication) :
A prospectus on The World's Greatest Gold Mine, published by The Bishop Creek Gold Company, 1906. Soft cover, 16 pages including many illustrations. Information is provided on the "virgin" and "unexplored" territory on the slopes of the eastern Sierra Nevada, about 80 miles "in an air line," southwest of Tonopah and Goldfield. It notes 25 properties owned by the Bishop Creek Gold Company, as well as the water power provided by 10 miles of water rights on the Middle and North Forks of Bishop Creek, which "traverses the Company's claims, carrying an immense amount of water." Additional information is provided by the Company's Engineer Report (by A.A. Hassan), as well as positive notes from several experienced, local mining-related personnel (J.W. Drouillard, W.P. Yaney, and W.W. Waterson). Finally, the "Estimated Profits" are discussed. "The mines are entirely paid for and the Company has no bonds, preferred shares or liens against it of any kind. As soon as a 500 ton reduction plant is installed and in running order the Company will earn at the rate of 20 per cent. a year on the par value of the stock and 100 per cent. on the price of this initial offering at one dollar per share." The prospectus' concludes by stating that "no salary is to be paid to any officer of the company previous to the commencement of the payment of regular dividends to our stockholders." Approximately 6 x 9", very fine.
