Paris, Jean Henault, 1656, folio, nice elaborately gilt calf, covers with large diagonal corner ornaments and diamond shaped centrepiece built up with small stamps and dots, within a large ornamental border, elaborately gilt spine on 6 raised bands, later marbled endpapers, red polished edges, cloth tabs for the "Canon", [60]-576-cij-[2] pp. (lacking â1, blank or half-title; lower blank margin occasionally stained and/or underlaid). Excellent copy. € 250/450 Very rare well-produced Missal in a pleasant binding: a collector's item. Engrav. ill. on titlepage, 7 full-page engravings by Jaspar Isaac and 2 half-page ones. Well printed in red and black in 2 columns, within double ruled border. Music notations. 2 early 18th c. ms. additions bound in. Modern bookplate Leandre Bautherey. Ref.
