Bill Justice - Chip and Dale Dragon Around Bronze Sculpture #22/100 (Walt Disney, 2000).
Bill Justice - Chip and Dale "Dragon Around" Bronze Sculpture #22/100 (Walt Disney, 2000). This delightful sculpture is based on the 1954 cartoon "Dragon Around," wherein construction worker Donald Duck tries to oust Chip 'n' Dale from their home to build a highway. It seems Chip had been reading a book of fairy tales, and had imagined himself as a valiant knight when he saw a menacing steamshovel shadow on the hillside that resembled a dragon; the chipmunks then have the notion to become knights in shining armor to fight back. Dale serves as Chip's mighty steed. Bill Justice enjoyed a 42-year career with the Walt Disney Company. He joined them in 1937 and his first assignment was to work on "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Justice's animation credits include over 20 feature films and 80 short subjects. He worked on "Pinocchio," "Dumbo," "Bambi," "Cinderella," "Alice in Wonderland," "Peter Pan," "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree," and "Lady and the Tramp." Justice also developed that mischievous duo, Chip 'n' Dale, and he animated all but one of their cartoons. Small wonder he was awarded the "Disney Legend Award" in 1996. This bronze sculpture was produced for the 2000 Disney World Disneyana Convention by Bruce Lau for Bill Justice (White Horse Studio), and this is number 22 in a limited edition of 100. These sculptures quickly sold out at the convention with a retail price of $1,795, and they have since sold for considerably more on the secondary market. The sculpture is 11" tall and in Excellent condition. Comes with a signed signature series plaque from the creating artist.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Since eBay bids are not shown to us until we open the lot on the floor, we treat those bids just like floor bids. In most cases the floor responds before the eBay bid is presented to us, due to Internet lag time, so for consistency we have made it a policy that floor bids are always considered first over tie eBay live bids. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
