LS signed "William J. C. Haley," two pages, 8.25 x 10.5, no date. Letter responding to a union dispute. In part: "Joyce states that he went to great personal expense to service us in South America. This is untrue and the real truth of the matter is the South American promoter, Mr. Alex Valdes, supplied eleven round trip fares…We gave Mr. Joyce one of these round trip tickets…We paid for all of Mr. Joyce's hotel bills while he was there…Mr. Joyce never did any disc jockey promotion for us as he claims…The expense of record promotion was always paid by us and Decca Records." Signed at the conclusion in full by Haley, as well as his Comets Johnny Grande, "John A. Grande," and Billy Williamson, "William F. Williamson." In fine condition. This letter must predate 1963, as Grande and Williamson left the band in that year.
