Big bore pin fire double rifle by Devisme of Paris approx. 8 gauge pin-fire full rifled measuring 40-1/4” overall with 23-5/8” barrels, serial #2297. The barrels show a under lever release and 3 folding rear sights with large bead front sight in long base. The rifle remains in original near fine condition with 90% plus bright tobacco brown finish in a Damascus pattern. The locks and frame show 50-70% case hardening drifting tosilver with some rainbow colors. The trigger guard and small parts show most of their bright fire blue, the stock is very good plus with some minor scratches and mars and crisp checkering. The rifle is mounted smallsling swivels and a blued steel butt plate. The action is crisp, the bores are bright. The rifle weighs 11lbs and is the biggest caliber pin-fire double (rifled from breech to muzzle) Big Game Hunting gun we have evercatalogued. Devisme was a well known maker and inventor who made many oddities, knife pistols and patented inventions in the arms field. A rare pin-fire by a premier maker. Est.;$7,000-$14,000.
