American bluesman (1911–1985) from Kansas City, who came to his greatest fame in the 1950s with his pioneering rock and roll recordings, particularly ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll.’ Vintage glossy 8 x 10 publicity photo, signed and inscribed in blue ballpoint “To Chas. Silva, Stay on the R&B kick, Big Joe Turner, KC.” Scattered creases and a couple sports of soiling, otherwise fine condition.
