Big Brother and the Holding Company/Pink Floyd Fillmore/Winterland Poster #BG91 11/2-4/67 (Bill Graham, 1967) Now, This was a show! Coming at the end of their first U.S. tour, Pink Floyd (with original singer/guitarist Syd Barrett) was scheduled to appear with red-hot San Francisco band Big Brother and the Holding Company, starring vocalist Janis Joplin. The opening act was Richie Havens. There is, however, a question whether the Floyd actually took the stage, due to Barrett's increasing mental problems. Most timelines for Pink Floyd state that the band was in Abbey Road Studios on November 2, recording "Apples and Oranges" which was released as a single shortly after. At any rate, it's a wonderful poster, measuring 14' X 21" and graced with great graphics by Bonnie MacLean. NM-.
