Biedermeier Mantle Clock or Automaton Clock, So-called "Blacksmith", as allegory of Fortune, Viennese mechanism striking on the half hour, on gong, automaton in the form of a cherub blacksmith, enamelled chapter ring for hours and minutes, inscribed "Rau in Wien" (presumably Peter Rau, Viennese Master from 14 May 1804 to 1829), portal shaped case with maple veneer, and stained mahogany, with alabaster pillars and fittings, height 57 cm, Vienna circa 1810/20, ageing, parts restored and missing.
