[ Biblia latina]. ( Parisii, in Via Jacobi, Sol Aureus), [Michael Freiburger, Ulrich Gering & Martin Crantz, entre juillet 1476 et juillet 1477]. In-f° : ff. [144-265] (sur 268 ff.n.ch., manquent les ff. 1 (blanc), 2-143, 266-267, 268 (blanc), moisiss. passim à la marge inférieure, qqs déchirures marginales peu graves et sans perte, ff. à la fin du vol. lég. défraîchis avec marges et coins refaits ou renforcés, annot. et marques d'une main contemporaine passim). Rel. moderne : demi-basane brun foncé, plats en daim sertis d'encadrements à froid, dos lisse (plats part. brunis). Notre exemplaire constitue la seconde moitié de la seconde partie de cette bible, soit l'intégralité du Nouveau Testament fidèlement copié sur l'édition de Fust et Schoeffer donnée à Mayence en 1462. Il s'ouvre sur la lettre de Jérôme au pape Damas et renferme les Quatre Evangiles, les Lettres et les Actes des Apôtres, les épitres canoniques et l'Apocalypse de Saint Jean, et se termine sur les interprétations des noms hébreux. Très belle typographie sur deux colonnes (3 pour les noms hébreux), rubriquée et agrémentée de grandes lettrines à l'encre rouge et bleue. Cet atelier typographique parisien formé par trois imprimeurs d'origine allemande fut actif de 1470 à 1477-1478.Bon exemplaire, frais et grand de marges, de ce Nouveau Testament faisant de la première Bible imprimée en France.# Hain 3058; # BMC VIII, p. 8; # GKW 4225; # Goff B-550; # manque à Polain.Provenances : Richardus Yales (mention ms.); Thomas Parke (idem). 1.500 Euros

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 3.000 BEF will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Belgian Francs. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 7.000 BEF or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Belgian francs (BEF).
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 50.000 BEF.
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
