(lacking 11 ff. : *2, 2*1, 3*2, 4*1, n5, t2-3, x4, (a)10, 3D2 and 3F3; somewhat browning and foxing, dampstained in lower margin, some tears, wormtrack in last 50 ff.). Acceptable copy. € 500/700 Impressive copy of the corrected edition of the "Statenbijbel" (first ed. 1637), for centuries the standard Bible of Dutch protestant families. Engraved title, woodcut mark at the end and 6 double-page maps : world map, maps of Paradise and Holy Land by Nicolaas Visscher, Jerusalem, Holy Land and travels of the Apostles. Printed in 2 columns in gothic type, within elaborate marginal commentary.
