Beverly Hillbillies Truck Model Kit Prototype
George Barris Beverly Hillbillies Model Kit Prototype. In the seventh season episode "The Hot-Rod Truck" of The Beverly Hillbillies, Jethro decides to build a hot rod version of the family pick-up and challenges Granny and the old truck to a drag race. (A little of Granny's white lightning in the tank allowed her to beat Jethro easily -- while driving in reverse.) In 1968, MPC released a model kit that featured parts for both versions -- the original Clampett pick-up and Granny's Haulin' Hot Rod. Since then, the vintage kit has become a collector's item among model builders. This is a completed test version of the model for the hot rod variant of the kit, fully assembled and painted, measuring 2.75" x 3" x 7" with a 16" x 1" x 5" wooden display base. It is also accompanied by a proof sheet of the original box lid art. All items are in Very Fine to Excellent condition, with some small areas of paint loss to the model and mild wear to the proof. From the George Barris Archive.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Larg (view shipping information)
