Betty Boop and Bimbo (Paramount, 1932). Burgee (30 x23 Betty Boop and Bimbo (Paramount, 1932).
<B>Betty Boop and Bimbo (Paramount, 1932).</B></I> Burgee (30"x23"). Animator Grim Natwick, while working for Max and Dave Fleischer in 1930, created a new character that would become one of the most popular in cinema history. Betty Boop took the screen by surreal storm with her "boop-oop-a-doop"'s. She was also the first animated flapper and sex symbol that caused quite a concern with the Hays Commission. By 1934, with the new production code, Betty's cleavage was removed, as was her garter and the hem line of her form fitting dresses was lowered considerably. This rare burgee is a fine example of the pre-Code Betty with her dog (?) Bimbo. The item has its original fringe still attached and shows only minor signs of use including some very light foxing spots and a couple of tiny holes in the white background. Very Fine.
