“Best Time of Day” By Lajos Markos, limited edition print number 337. This print is nicely framed and ready for hanging. Lajos Markos (1917–1993) was a Hungarian American artist trained at the Royal Academy of Budapest. He came to the United States following World War II and worked as a portraitist in New York City, painting such celebrities as John Wayne and Robert Kennedy, The Royal Family of King Hassan II and Pablo Casals. In his lifetime, Lajos Markos completed over 2,000 portraits. In the 1960s, he moved to Houston, Texas, where he expanded his interest to art of the American west. Lajos Markos has original pieces hanging in the Texas Capitol building and the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
