Bernstein, Leonard (1818-1990) American composer and conductor. New York Philharmonic program for February 15, 1959 at Carnegie Hall inscribed and signed, "For Elisabeth Gustafson Sincerely Leonard Bernstein," (New York), 9 x 6 in. Also signed by Managing Director Bruno Zirato, "Cordially Bruno Zirato," and soprano Nina Morgana Zirato, "To my lovely Elisabeth Gustafson from Nina Morgan Zirato," both of whom were associated with Caruso. Bruno Zirato was Caruso's secretary. Nina Morgana is said to have been the last soprano to sing with Caruso in recital. Bernstein was Music Director of the New York Philharmonic. Very fine.
