Renowned for his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock—most famously on the scores for Psycho, North by Northwest, The Man Who Knew Too Much, and Vertigo—his other notable achievements include scores for such iconic classics as Citizen Kane, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Taxi Driver, and The Magnificent Ambersons. DS, two onionskin pages, 8.5 x 11, August 24, 1954. Agreement between Herrmann and CBS Radio by which he agrees to furnish a "first-class, musical soundtrack suitable for a motion picture in sound and color of approximately fifteen-minutes' duration at present entitled 'CBS Carnival.'"
