German WW2 military issued semi-automatic rifle. 10-rd detachable box magazine. Gas-operated short-stroke piston, flapper locking. 21.5" barrel. Produced 1943-45 with a total of 402,713 made. Threaded muzzle with removable nut for blank adapter. Hooded serrated ramp front blade and tangent rear sights. Rough machined receiver, and bolt carrier. Serrated bolt hold open lever to the right of the charging handle locks/releases the bolt. Left side of the receiver stamped "G.43", "duv 44", "[Eagle]/214". Matching serial numbers are found full or in part on the receiver, bolt carrier, bolt, firing pin, locking lugs, & stock. The "[eagle]/214" markings are observed on the receiver, bolt carrier, bolt and stock (in three places). "[eagle]/WaAA44" stamped on bolt housing. Bore has good rifling, scattered pitting and what appears to be a dark ring near the muzzle. There is no apparent bulge in the barrel but the front sight band has 5/8” tear extending from the thread protector. Blued metal finish is very good with wear and patina. Brown/red laminated wood stock, and dark wood vented handguard are very good with scattered blemishes. Cupped steel buttplate is hinged for cleaning gear. Comes with correct K98 sling, magazine marked "gcb" (Grohmann & Sohn, Wuerbenthal) "K43", and waffenamt “[eagle/WaAB92]”.
