Beretta Model 1935 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Rare Nazi Army Acceptance Proof
The left grip tang on this Beretta Model 1935 semi-automatic pistol is stamped with the rarely seen "eagle/swastika/WaA162" German Army acceptance proof. After the Italian government entered into the September 1943 armistice with Western allies, the German acceptance proof was applied to Model 1935 pistols produced by the German captured Beretta factory in Gardone. The left side of the slide is marked "P. BERETTA-Cal. 7.65-BREVETTATA / GARDONE V.T. 1944", all highlighted in white. The pistol is fitted with the standard metal backed black plastic grips with "PB" emblem and has the blue finish. Matching serial number on slide and frame. In Jan Still's book AXIS PISTOLS, Vol. II (page 107), the serial number of this pistol is listed as being one of the 19 reported Model 1935 pistols stamped with the rare Nazi Army acceptance proof.
