The height of the music sheet stand is easily adjustable to accommodate a standing or a sitting player. The music sheet tray has decorative perforations in the shape of a Lyre, a musical instrument from Greek times similar to a harp. At the sides of each tray there are two adjustable candle stands, to illuminate the music sheets. <p>This music sheet stand follows the style of Thonet, the German cabinet maker who successfully developed the bent wood furniture process. Also known as Vienna furniture due to the fact that Thonet lived and worked there. Thonet was a favorite of the Austrian Emperor and had an exclusive patent to produce bent wood furniture. When the patent expired, bent wood furniture was made by other cabinet makers and in other countries such as Italy.
