Partly-printed DS, signed ‰ÛÏB. Lincoln‰Û and "T. Melvill," one page, 9.5 x 5, July 6, 1802. Port of Boston and Charlestown document certifying an import of "one Chest of Green Tea." Signed at the conclusion by Benjamin Lincoln as collector and countersigned by Thomas Melvill as inspector. In very good to fine condition, with a small tear, and light show-through from two pieces of tape on the back. Lincoln is remembered as the Continental Army officer who formally accepted the British surrender at Yorktown, while Melvill is best known as a member of the Sons of Liberty who participated in the Boston Tea Party.
