LS signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 5 x 8, black-bordered personal letterhead, April 1, 1893. Letter to his former Secretary of the Interior John W. Noble. In full: “Your note of the 28th and the birds came not far apart and had an undiscriminating welcome. The birds were very toothsome and made two breakfasts for my little family. I wish I could have been with you for I am an enthusiast in outdoor sports, though my life has been so burdened that I have had less of them than I could wish. We have never shot together; and sometime I hope we may plan an expedition that I may see how good your unofficial aim is! I am very busy unpacking and repairing my house and stable &c, living in the dirt and very tired physically every night. After while I hope to be settled and then, and always, will be most glad to see you and Mrs Noble. You must not pass me by when you are near. Is it not a comfort to you to read of the war in the Indian Territory and to know that you have no responsibility for it. I can read the financial reports, and that gold is threatening to go abroad with perfect equanimity.” In fine condition, with some mild toning along the central horizontal fold.
