TLS signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 8 x 10.5, personal letterhead, January 24, 1901. Letter to Emerson Brooks, in part: "I have quite a number of letters and autographs of my great grand father, Benjamin Harrison. The letter you refer to would of course have value to me, but as I do not know the length of the letter or the subject of it I can form no idea as to what value it would have. If you choose to inform me upon these matters and to indicate the price asked for the letter I will very promptly tell you whether I want it or not." In very good to fine condition, with two light circular stains. Harrison died of pneumonia 48 days after writing this letter, so it is unclear if the transaction was ever consummated; his great-grandfather, Benjamin Harrison V, was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and served as Virginia's fifth governor.
