<B>Benjamin Butler Signed Stock Certificate</B></I> "<I>Benj. F. Butler</B></I>", as president of the Georgia-Alabama Investment and Development Co., 1891, for five shares. A great example with a central vignette of the Georgia State Seal. Butler (1818-1893), was the anti-monopoly and Greenback (National) Party candidate for president in 1884 and a Civil War Union general. Following his involvement with what battle historians called "Butler's Folly", "Beast" Butler was dismissed by Grant. He went on to represent Massachusetts in Congress. Fine condition.
