Endorsed on the reverse by William Waldorf Astor, "W. W. Astor." In fine condition. Altman (1840–1913) founded the landmark New York City department store B. Altman & Co. in 1865, and was a prominent art collector. Astor (1848–1919) was a wealthy politician, businessman, and newspaper publisher remembered for his philanthropy.
