Indigenous Mexican statesman (1806–1872) who served as president of that country from 1858 until his death. Juárez is best known for his sweeping reforms and for his role in ousting the Emperor Maximilian during Mexico’s civil conflicts of the 1860s. Manuscript DS, in Spanish, one page, 8.5 x 12.5, July 13, 1848. Official government document signed by Juarez as governor of the State of Oaxaca. In fine condition, with light intersecting folds, and some mild toning and edge creasing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
