INO Shah Alam II, RY 45, Copper Pattern Pice, 1806 (Mule Issue), Farrukabad Mint, 6.56g, 26.20mm, P. Stv-8.117, Prid-342.A copper pattern prepared by Forster, featuring the value in three languages on the Obverse: Bengali: এক পয় সিক্কা (ek pai sikka) | Persian: یک پای سکہ (yek pai sikka) | Hindi: एक पई सिक्का (ek pai sikka). Reverse: bears the Persian inscription: ẓarb farruckābād sanah 45 julūs maimanat mānūs& nbsp;(Struck at Farrukhabad in the 45th year of his reign of tranquil prosperity). Very Fine+, Extremely Rare.Notes: This experimental pattern issue represents a mule pairing of mismatched dies, making it a highly important numismatic anomaly from the late Mughal period and its pattern status suggests a trial striking rather than a circulation issue. Pieces of this type from Farrukhābād are seldom encountered and the combination of pattern fabric, mule configuration and advanced regnal year places this specimen among the most desirable and elusive varieties for collectors of Indo-Mughal and late Mughal experimental coinage. Of the highest rarity (RRR) and among the rarest known copper issues from Farrukhabad.
