A small 3 piece gold color pin. Measures 4.5” x 2”. Pin has the town name of “Goldfield, Nev” the lodge number “1072” engraved on the top piece. The middle is of a clock with the letters “B.P.O.E” within the clock. The bottom part is of a flower. The pin was made by Robbins Company, Inc. in Attleboro, Massachusetts. There is some wear on the pin, mostly from age. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is a fraternal and social order created in the late 19th century. Lodge #1072 was described once by Sam P. Davis in 1912 as “The Elks are a numerous and growing lodge, having been organized in the spring of [19]'07 under dispensation, followed in July by a charter. Their home is the handsomest in Goldfield. They have done much good in active charity” [Ref: The History of Nevada, Vol II, Sam P. Davis, 1912]. - Maish Collection -58871
