Ben Shostle Signed Master Engraved Gold Inlaid Smith & Wesson Model 29-4 Double Action Revolver with Case

This is a nice example of a Ben Shostle master engraved Smith & Wesson Model 29-4 revolver. The sides of the barrel, frame and cylinder are engraved with floral vine designs with a matte background. The high areas of the engraving have been polished and left in the white. The S&W logo in the center of the trade mark on the right rear of the frame has been replaced with a gold inlaid relief bears head. The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON" and "44 MAGNUM" on the right side. Pinned blade front ramped sight with orange insert and adjustable rear target sight. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, and fitted with smooth ivory grips. The revolver comes in a wooden case with wine colored velvet lining. Also with the revolver is a wooden display rack with brass plaque that reads "SMITH & WESSON" MODEL 29/44 MAGNUM/BEN SHOSTLE - ENGRAVER".

Excellent. The revolver retains 80% original blue finish with the balance in the white. The hammer and trigger retain 99% plus original bright case colors. The grips are also excellent. The engraving and markings are sharp. The action is excellent. The case is excellent with a few minor scratches on the exterior and some contact wear on the lining from the cylinder. The rack is good with some insect damage and the plagued part separated from the base (needs regluing).
