American transportation businessman (1819-1887) known as the ‘Stagecoach King’ until his routes were taken over by Wells Fargo in 1866. Three Oregon & California Rail Road Company business checks, all measuring 9 x 3.5, all filled out in another hand and signed by Holladay “Ben Holladay,” all from 1870. In overall fine condition, with a vertical fold to each, expected stamps, and mostly clean signature areas.
