Belgium high quality pre-war box lock shotgun signed N. Bodson A Liege. The shotgun is chambered for 12 gauge, 2 ¾” shells with 30” barrels, choked .732 and .726 for full choke and improved cylinder. The stock measures 14 ¼” to the end of the hard rubber recoil pad with a 2 ¾” drop at the heel and 1 ¾” drop at the comb. There is a 3/8” cast to the stock at the heel and a half inch cast to the toe. The barrels show .25 thickness left and .22 thickness right. The barrels show 95% original blue starting to thin and tone with a non-ventilated raised rib. The frame shows a silver to grey patina with good quality engraving. A beautiful beaver tail forend has been added and the butt stock shows restoration to match forend. A retractable sling is mounted in the butt stock. The trigger guard has an extended black horn carved grip or rest. There are two beautifully engraved and deeply chiseled initials K.R. surmounted by a single pointed Crown on the trigger guard indicating Royal ownership. The small parts have been refinished such as the trigger guard and release lever and etc. The gun shows double triggers, auto ejector’s and gold inlaid safe. The work on this shotgun was done by master German trained gunsmith Freddy Brunner for his personal collection Mr. Brunner is a well-known Southern California craftsman who was Pachmayr’s top gunsmith in their golden years.
