Belgian Browning, grade III, .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle, 19” barrel, takedown frame, blue and satin finish, highly engraved, select checkered walnut stocks with skip checkering, serial number “28249” with 1st year wheel adjustment rear sight. The rifle remains in fine to excellent condition with 98-99% plus original blue and satin finish, the stocks are near fine with some slight crazing in the varnish, some minor storage marks, light handling, but near excellent overall. Though unsigned, the receiver is masterfully engraved showing semi-relief scrolls and game scenes on the left, right, and top panels including, dog and birds surrounded by scroll, beautiful vignette, and dog retrieving rabbit. The action is crisp, the interior is excellent. Just slight use and has been cared for. Circa about 1954-56. Est.: $1,500-$3,000
