Elaborately Gold Damascened engraved Beistegui Hermanos Libia Semi-Automatic Vest Pocket Pistol with Pearl Grips chambered in .32 Auto. Manufactured in Spain by the Beistegui Brothers in Eibar, Spain around 1920-1922. This gun is a based on the John Browning designed FN Model 1906. This embellished Spanish vest pocket pistol features a full gold Damascened finish with contrasting blued under layer, full coverage floral and scroll patterns with interwoven winged dragon on the rear of the frame and the Mexican Eagle/Snake on the left slide, gold inlaid floral blooms, gold plated small parts including the magazine floor plate. 2 1/4" fluted barrel, manual thumb safety/slide stop, grip safety, full length guide rod. The bore is very good, bright, the gold finish is about 90% with friction wear of the barrel, some edge wear, handling wear on the safety latch and magazine release, the engraving is sharp, the left mother of pearl grip panel is very good with the original screw, the right panel is cracked with a couple of chips, missing the screw with scotch tape holding it to the frame. Worthy of restoration. A very similar pistol (In better condition) of the same maker and model sold at the Rock Island Auction on September 12, 2020 for over $4000.00.
