1863. Territorial. Incorporated May 20th, 1863. Location: Virginia District, Nevada Territory. Certificate # 228. Uncancelled. Issued for ten shares to John Agneu on August 26th, 1863. Signed by Caleb Hyatt (president) and Aug. C Teilman (?) (secretary). Datelined San Francisco. Vignette in center of mountain scene: miner pushing ore cart on track out of mine, with stagecoach and building in background. Printed by Towne & Bacon, Printers S.F. Very delicate paper. Small holes on right and left sides. Toning. Left bottom corner missing. Extremely rare certificate. Not listed on Bancroft 1862 or mentioned in other Holabird research materials. According to McDonald, their office was located in S.F. at 611 Clay St. and the secretary was A.C. Teitman (McDoanld, pg. 17,1996). May have been prospective company. Their name is unusual in that it refers more to Gold Rush-style mining. Perhaps this site was located near a river?City: Virginia CityCounty: StoreyState: NVDate:
