Beautifully created masterpiece of modern knifemaking by Steven J. Rapp in the early California Bowie Knife style approx. 11” overall with an approx. 6” blade and ornately engraved and decorated metal sheath in likenew condition; the grip of the knife is of ivory with brass tack designs on both sides and an engraved blank inscription shield on both sides; grip is outlined in metal overlay with tastefully engraved panels and matching engraved flush hilt connecting to the blade. The metal sheath has a belt hook on the back and is beautifully engraved on the front with florals and gold bordered center oval, conceivably for a personalized inscription or panel. Steven Rapp has been making custom knives since 1980. He only makes 10-20 knives a year and has an almost two year wait in orders; in 1998, he was given the “Wooden Sword Award” from Ken Warner and isparticularly known for his ability to reproduce antique knives with authenticity and style; a real high quality work of art and craftsmanship.
