<B>Beautiful Gutta-percha Frame with Lincoln Portrait.</B></I> A stunning gutta-percha frame measuring 5.75" x 9" ornately decorated with floral designs surmounted by a unique cameo motif of a delicate blue flower on a white background. The borders of the frame feature a variety of graceful curves. The integral mat is gilted. The reverse of the frame is marked "Patented. Aug. 7, 1855". The original baking with delicate hooks for securing to the frame is still present. The frame is virtually without flaw with the exception of one or two negligible chips on the edge. The Lincoln image is an engraving from a photograph. The image is still very good but the original mat has suffered a few stains.
