Beautiful Andrew Jackson Marine Corps Commission Signed. One Page, 15" x 18", Washington, March 2, 1835. A pristine commission for Thomas English, a captain in the Marine Corps boasting a 6.5" x 1" Jackson signature as president and similarly countersigned by Dickerson as secretary of war. Wax seal in near perfect condition. Beautiful vignette of the peace symbolic eagle and olive branch at the top and the traditional nautical regalia, anchor, oars, flags, sabre, guns, and cannons below. Fold creased but otherwise one of the finest Jacksons we've seen in years. Accompanied by a hard bound gold embossed archival slipcase.
