Nancy: Lucien Wiener, 1867. 8vo, contemporary tan half calf, gilt, with marbled sides; spine with five raised bands, ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt; marbled endpapers. (4), 98, (2) pages; portrait medal of Saint-Urbain (by his son) depicted on title page. Minor bruise to head of spine; light wear to binding. Interiors crisp and fine. An exceptionally well-printed and charming work. Very rare, with this being the first copy we have offered in at least 25 years. Forrer notes that Santi-Urbain (1658-1738) executed over 120 medals in addition to engraving dies for coinage in Bologna and Rome as well as Lorraine and Nancy.
